EROSION

WATER HAS POWER

During an experiment on water’s pressure effects on ceramics, designer Jihye Kang was intrigued by the powerful impact of water on the ceramics’ surface. When water pressure hits the surface of dried porcelain, the surface is permanently altered as its utmost layers erode. This effect is more of a peeling effect rather than a deep destruction. This erosion helps create objects with a unique design character.
