CAPILLARY EFFECT
series of PANTA RHEI

WATER CARRIES EVERYTHING

The porosity of porcelain allows the absorption of water. The immersion process of the vessel first into color and subsequently  into water create a visible capillary effect, where color moves along through the body of the vessel simultaneously as the water is absorbed. Thus, the color intensity as well as other color effects are directly influenced by the duration of the immersion and can vary accordingly. The resulting color of each object is determined primarily by the water’s absorption by the vessel, and therefore is unique.
